The neture's art&radio mix is an audio collage out of a series of artistic projects by Jan Hendrik Brueggemeier, which resonate with associations inspired by the term "neture" (net and nature).
Starting point for the nEture” series is Jan Brueggemeier’s diploma project called nEture at the chair for Experimental Radio at the Bauhaus University in Weimar (2004). nEture was an artistic study of medial and architectural interventions in urban planning using the example of Leipzig-Plagwitz.
In its first phase, the term turned out to be particularly useful in connection with urban planning in times of post-industrialized cities working with communication-media respective radio as a concrete tool of architectural and urban planning. Intention was to initiate media practices in a neighbourhood context in times of shrinking common public life in a city.
It aimed to demonstrate that this differs from the usual approach taken by local authorities wishing to improve the image of the city without heeding to the need for a vital communication, which is itself crucial if sustainable development is to be achieved.
Jan Brueggemeier’s diploma mentors:
Tetsuo Kogawa, Media Experiments, Tokyo Keizai University Ralf Homann, Experimental Radio, Bauhaus University Weimar Christine Hill, Trend and Public Appearance, Bauhaus University Weimar and Ute Holl, History and Theory of Artificial Worlds, Bauhaus University Weimar
As well as the nEture catalogue, the documentation for the diploma project contains a radio feature (89’50’’) with interviews with artists, architects and theorists like Franco ‘Bifo’ Berardi, T03K, Tetsuo Kogawa und Daniel Guischard. nEture has been presented as side others at the Westend-Festival in Leipzig 2005. http://neture.org/diploma
Further acoustic sources were used from the following projects: RADIOSAUNA (Brueggemeier & Guischard), black clouds (Brueggemeier) and modern tracks (Brueggemeier).
